    Credit Scores

    No Credit

A status indicating insufficient credit history to generate a credit score, also called a thin file.

    What It Means

Consumers with no credit are not the same as those with bad credit-they simply lack a track record. FICO requires at least one account open six months or longer with recent activity to generate a score. Authorized-user status, secured cards, and credit-builder loans are common starting points.
