    Credit Score Range

The published tiers-poor, fair, good, very good, exceptional-used to categorize credit scores.

    What It Means

FICO ranges are typically: 300–579 poor, 580–669 fair, 670–739 good, 740–799 very good, 800–850 exceptional. VantageScore ranges differ slightly. Lenders set their own cutoffs for product approval and pricing tiers, so the same score can yield different outcomes at different lenders.
