    Credit Cards

    Charge Card

A card requiring the full balance to be paid each cycle, with no preset spending limit.

    What It Means

Unlike revolving credit cards, charge cards must be paid in full monthly. They generally lack a hard credit limit; instead, spending power adjusts dynamically based on the cardholder's history and finances. American Express historically pioneered charge cards. Late payments on charge cards can trigger steep fees and account suspension.
